The music developed a social conscience, almost obscuring the love/sex thing. Then on to Disco, Grunge, and all the rest.

The same angre, hate, love, pain, lose - just not how we were used to hearing it. I must admit when my 12 year old daughter secretly purchased a rap CD restricted to 18 and over sales. I was equally mortified when she played it on a church trip. Shock value I think and it worked!
